Imagine my surprise and delight when one afternoon I checked my blogging email inbox , and found that Modcloth had emailed me, offering me freebies in exchange for a 'Travel Bug' guide to Brighton for their blog!
I regard myself as small fry when it comes to the blogging world so I was thrilled that a brand as huge as Modcloth would even notice me!
And boy was it hard choosing those freebies! They have so much gorgeous stuff!

After much deliberation, the winners were a pretty mint tea dress, two tone brogues (I'm so in love with these shoes!) cute pale polka tights and a sweet 'Love in three languages' necklace!
Worn here with a handmade ballerina cardigan I found in a flea market in Berlin.
The dress is a lovely light crepe type fabric, and it skims over my curvy bits wonderfully! It's also a lot of fun to twirl in!
And because my personal blogging photographer (aaw he's the best!) was looking so ruddy dapper I thought I would post his outfit too!

Josh is wearing a vintage blazer from Beyond Retro, a Topman shirt and spray-on skinny jeans, and vintage paisley tie from the Brighton 'Frock Me' fair the other weekend.
I love how he mixes up colour and patterns in unpredictable ways!
And just in case you didn't notice in the photos above, look at this adorable window transfer! It caught my eye as we crossed the road and I knew my outfit photos had to include it!

We started the day with a hearty breakfast in Cafe Motu, in preparation for a day of snapping 'must visit' places in Brighton...
Oh maaaaan I am such a sucker for american breakfasts!

We stopped by to visit our friend Alec (of The Splendid Suitcase) at his market stall in the lanes, and he caught this 'muscle man' moment whilst helping me with the manual settings on my camera (I'm still learning!)

We then went to our friend Juans for a dinner party, where Lucia (his sister) and Oli (her boyfriend) cooked us a gorgeous dinner!
We provided the desert....Nutella fondue with fruit and mini donuts! Yum!
And then...(SO happy about this!)
Josh and I went to see C W Stoneking again! How lucky am I? Twice in one year!
Once again he was phenomenal, and this time I was right at the very front! Perfect for someone of my teeny stature!
Now for fear of this post becoming a smug freebies-indulging one...I have a little Christmas present for you!
I am giving away this cute make up purse that was also sent to me by Modcloth (share the wealth!)
Big enough for all your daily bits and bobs, brushes, lotions and potions with a convenient little zipped pocket inside!
Not to mention how sweet it is to look at!
Want to win it?
Then all you have to do is comment on this post, telling me what your 'can't live without' make up product of choice is! What brand is it? What's so amazing about it, and why you like it so much?
Then click 'like' on my facebook page to complete your entry!
I'll be announcing the winner within the next two weeks!
Best of luck!
Love Yours Truly, x
Ps. You can view the Modcloth Travel Bug post I did HERE - hope you like it!

Belle!
ReplyDeleteI'd be stood in awe if I ever passed you two on a street... you're the cutest couple ever! X
ReplyDeleteRed lipstick! So cliche but I can't help it, i think it makes any look classy! I've already liked your facebook page! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, your Modcloth post makes me want to go to Brighton so bad! The vintage shops look fab and the breakfast place...a dream! As for make-up I can't live without, I'd say mascara because it simple but makes all the difference!
ReplyDeleteI wish your boyfriend had a blog as well! Such a stylish couple - love it :)
ReplyDeleteMy most essential make-up product is mascara! I love the Covergirl lash blast ones and tall, dark eyelashes just perk up your face~=!
Hiii! my name on facebook is Aliciaa Barrientos
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my Rimmel, it's cool!
You're so lucky, congratulations on being featured in the ModCloth blog!

Wow, I love that picture of you two in the street! Great post again, your outfit is super cute!
ReplyDeleteMy can't live without product is definitely red lipstick! I feel naked without it, and when I put it on I immediately feel classy and feminine :) I love to wear it because not so many people wear it in everyday life, and it makes me just stand out :) And it looks good with my ginger hair, haha!
What a cute little purse! I can't leave the house without my Maybelline Full n' Soft Mascara. I've been wearing it for years and have never found anything that compares. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to get freebies from Modcloth! :) I love the dress you chose. Looks beautiful on you.
ReplyDeleteMy must-have beauty product is Kate Somerville ExfoliKate. Makes my skin super soft and fresh.
I liked your FB page too!

Mine is my bourjois paris effect 3d lipgloss, I love the stuff. My favourite shade is a really natural colour but gives my lips that boost to look a bit fuller.

Love your Brighton posts! Makes me miss the summer of 2008 terribly.
ReplyDeleteWell, my make-up must-have... My Givenchy lipstick, Delice Brown no. 32! I've never been lucky with lipsticks. Either they were too bright, too dark, too light, too pink, too red, too brown, etc...
Nothing fit my skin color (which is not so fair) and it made me crazy! Then one glorious day, just by chance, I tried Givency's Delice Brown lipstick and my life was complete. It is perfect for my skin tone, my full-and-wide lips, it is the only 'really matte' lipstick I've ever used; and depending on how many coats you put on, it can be used for day AND night!
It is the one and only lipstick I use, and don't have any other color in my make up bag and I don't need another one! Me and Givenchy no.32, it is the most faithful love story of all. (I can talk about my beloved lipstick all day long.)
You're such a style inspiration for me! The makeup I can't live without is black mascara, my eyes look so big when I'm wearing it! My favorite brand is mabeline's "black lace drama" because I always have people ask me if my lashes are fake!
ReplyDeleteAnd I already like your facebook page, silly!
http://georgiatryingsomethingnew.blogspot.com
I can't live without my falsies lashes mascara by mabelline!
ReplyDeleteThat make-up purse is so cute! And so lovely of Modcloth to send you the freebies!
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my mascara. I know, it's one of the most basic things, but I just need it :) The brand I use right now is 'Nivea' and the mascara is called 'Volume-Nanodefinition'. What's so amazing about it is that it really gives you the longest lashes. Without making them look really artificial, which is an important factor for me ;)
Hailey from http://squidsquads.blogspot.com
Just found ur blog yesterday & love it! I've liked u on facey now too.
ReplyDeleteI wore make up every single day from age 13 to 26. I stopped this year (now I'm 27) and only ever wear foundation, and almost every day. It's been maybelline moose for years. I keep trying other brands but days later come back to my old faithful!
I can't live w//out peach coloured lip gloss and dark purple/black nail polish....makes me feel like a classy broad.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE modcloth :D
I love the modcloth posting! So classy...
ReplyDeleteAnd may I just say that I had no idea your name is Kerry. As a fellow Kerry, I approve.
I can't live (with or :D) without fleur de santé - mulberry sparkle - lipstick from my mum (:D).
ReplyDeletePerfect color! I think quite sexy. :)
And the make up purse postcard is absolutely gorgeous! <3
You picked the best stuff from Modcloth! The make-up purse is so cute. What would be in that purse for me is Mac Ruby Woo, benefit erase paste, and my sephora eyebrow kit. ALL ESSENTIALS!
ReplyDeleteI liked you on FB!
The one makeup item I can't live without would have to be my lipstick! I especially love Rimmel London's Moisture Renew line. I just got "Rogue" and it is the absolute perfect red lipstick! Not too matte, not too shiny... Ahh! I could talk about it all day! And it's affordable, which makes me love it EVEN MORE!
ReplyDeleteJust liked you on Facebook too. :D
Aw, your Modcloth choices are the cutest! <3 <3 <3 I love seeing pretty wee Brighton too!

ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I LOVE getting things in the mail, so I am swooning over that make-up bag! I just now have liked your page on Facebook, and my make-up must have is black eyeliner! Whether I'm sporting a dramatic winged eye or just a demure line, I love experimenting with it ^^
Aw, I love this post and the ModCloth make up bag! So cute! I have to say that my must have item is my Clinique lipstick called Shy. With red hair it can be a challenge to find lipstick that goes with my crazy hair!

i love your dress and tights, and also photographer´s style. I cant live without coverstick (i can use it as make up too), mascara (use it like eyeliner sometimes), and red lipstick (use it as blush sometimes)
ReplyDeletemichaela.kridlova@gmail.com
Actually, at the first I thought I can't live without mascara or makeup or a very best red lipstick I have, but that would't honestly be true. I can't live without my boyfriend, who looks a bit like yours, so I would guess they're tha same "brand". He's from the younger edition 'cause his hair are not so curly as your boyfriend and he hate them, whereas I love them 'cause he remids me of Bob Dylan.)
ReplyDeleteThe reason why I can't live without him is pretty easy: even if I haven't got my mascara/lipstick/make up or whatever on my face, he loves me. So I'd guess I CAN live without my beauty products in case I have somebody who loves me without them, just in my natural look.
Btw hope you understand, sorry for my English, not corrent every time.)
Love your style, you look so jolly in the third picture. And of course thumbs up for your photographer, both of your guys look like a dream team!
Have a great time before Christmas, Aneta.
aneta.jel@seznam.cz
Clinique green tinted foundation. I have a bright red face so this balances it out so I don't look so weird!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit you are wearing and your boyfriends hair is totally awesome. Your giveaway is so so lovely. The one thing I can't do without now is my eyeliner brush pen which I bought from Topshop. Its the best EVER!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have liked your facebook page :)
I don't really wear very much makeup, just some concealer, and a bit of mascara. But I am a sucker for lipstick! I only have 4...but I love them! All Maybelline, my favourite has to be their 175 pink punch - it's a little bit old lady and adds the perfect sophistication to any look :) and eyebrow gel - amazing!
ReplyDeleteI already like your facebook page and I wanted to say that this purse is perfect! It is very, very similar to some postcards I am looking at for my art work at the moment...I want it and might buy it anyway :)
Love this post, might have to ask Santa for that dress to wear on Christmas Day! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy essential make-up product would definitely be my Urban Decay eye shadow palette. I'm a bit of a glitter addict so their eye shadows are great for sparkle on nights out! They also come with a base to apply first so it stays on all night.
Jess :)
smokey eyes eyeshadow combined with my red lipstick, I think it makes any outfit look classy, and more interesting !
ReplyDeleteI love this post by the way, your hair and dress are gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI found your delightful blog from the ever so marvelous Mod Cloth.
ReplyDeleteThe one makeup item I could never live without would be my ever so trusted Maybelline-the falsies volume express waterproof black mascara.
I am also am a post-crossing gal. I send and receive post cards from all around the world, which this bag could hold my gadgets for mailing. In addition to, international stamps, post cards, art supplies (that won't make a mess) of course. :)
I couldn't live without my YSL red lippy! Predictable I know! I love it because it shows you don't have to spend hours in front of the mirror to look elegant and glamorous, minimal make up with a swipe of red lippy can change a look with hardly any effort :)
ReplyDeleteLove the post, your tights are so sweet! X
I can't live without Urban Decay All nighter setting spray. I have oily skin and this keeps my skin matte and my make up looking freshly applied for over 12 hours! It's great knowing I don't have shiny skin and I don't need to powder my nose
ReplyDeleteI can't live without eye liner! Mostly liquid liner as I am a huge fan of the versatility. I can create all kinds of looks from the 40's to the 80's :D
ReplyDeletePerhaps not as exciting as pretty colors of lipstick and amazing eyeliners, but I cannot live without Clinique's Line-Smoothing Concealer. I'm not old enough to really have to worry about lines (yet), but this slightly thicker liquid formula has so much more staying power to cover up those dark under-eye circles and the occasional blemish--especially for someone with oilier skin like me! This in combination with a featherweight liquid foundation creates the loveliest palette for whatever I decide to do with makeup on any given day.
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo of you, the colours are gorgeous and your posts always make me smile! I definitely need to visit Brighton after reading your Travel Bug post, shame it's so far away (I'm in Cornwall).
ReplyDeleteI just liked your Facebook page and I think the thing I couldn't live without would be my battered little tub of Vaseline lip balm, it's always in my bag... And my No. 7 mascara is amazing too :)
oh wow you two are perfect together :)! cute couple! I love your haircolor, i wish i had the guts to dye mine red!
ReplyDeleteThat new dress of yours is SO ridiculously adorable, the colour is so sweet! Your posts and outfits always make me smile <3
ReplyDeleteAs for my favourite makeup product, I'd have to say it's MAC's penultimate eye liner. It's just like using a fibre-tipped pen, so applying it is almost foolproof! I don't know what I'd do without it <3 (Although a few more colour options wouldn't go amiss!)
Thanks for writing such a lovely blog! :D
Wauw, your boyfriend has so much style! And so you do :). I'd love to win the make-up bag.. It looks just adorable. However, my favorite make-up product is hard to pick.. I think I'll stick with mascara, 'cause I love my lashes and I always get compliments about them.
ReplyDeleteI wear quite minimal make up really, but I can't live without lipstick, as it just makes a look. Adding a bit of red lipstick adds an instant classic feel, my favourite is probably my Wonderwoman Mac lipstick in russian red!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful outfit! How fun! I can't live without Covergirl mascara!!
ReplyDeleteLove this post and outfit. will have to recreate. the make up i can't live without. it's a toss up between feather false eyelashes ( more an eye accessory) you don't need to worry about eye liner or mascara. great for black and white photos. and benefits good to go lip stick. not to heavy but noticeable. smooth, lasts a log time and the colour is perfect.
ReplyDeletelove ya

Modcloth is amazing! I really do need to order from there :) The dress looks fab on you
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my L'oreal mascara. They make the perfect shade of black that makes my eyes sparkle and I swear look more blue.

maybelline mascara is my life. :D i love the cute bag.. : ) thanks for offering this.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't live without my lipgloss or lipstick Because when I was young my lips is always dried so every day I use lipstick or lipgloss.,and i love it too:)
ReplyDeleteI love the pouch:)
I'm in love with the shoes and the dress, so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I most probably couldn't live without a red lipstick, I feel naked without it, really! I don't care about the brand as long as it's red and bright!
I can't live without Bobbi Brown 'Natural Finish' Long Lasting Foundation, because with fair skin it's so hard to find foundation that actually matches my light color and doesn't make me look un-naturally orange or brown. Also it makes my skin look and feel really soft and makeup free all day long. Love it/you.
ReplyDeleteHi! I don't really use beauty products in general, but I love smelling good. One of my favorite lotions is p.s. i love you from Bath and Body Works. It smells awesome and is a good moisturizer.
ReplyDeleteSofia Adams
Awh it looks like you had a lovely time, and that is SUCH a cute purse :)
ReplyDeleteThe make up product I can't live without is definitely Simple's spot-reducing face wash. It's completely natural and moisturises too! I don't mind going out of the house without foundation or anything like that because it makes my skin look clear and healthy.
Makeup I like best: Clinique Perfectly Real foundation because it's so light and natural feeling yet covers just enough, and Covergirl Nature Luxe because it also fees light and natural and doesn't bother my eyes like some other prodcuts do.
ReplyDeleteYou are so adorable, and I have added Brighton to my list of places I hope to visit one day thanks to you!
On Facebook I am JoAnna Webb.
And I was talking about mascara when I mentioned Covergirl Nature Luxe. Oops : )
ReplyDeleteI love your style! xx

The makeup I cannot live without is my Revlon Fire and Ice Lipstick. My grandmother has stuck with the same brand and same colour for as long as I can remember, and wearing it is a nice tribute to her and her impeccable sense of timeless class and style.
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my brown eyeliner..because it makes my eyes "speak".. I can make such as many expressions and characters into my face with it..to look like independent and strong woman. I love my local brand PAC.
ReplyDeleterepost.. because of my picture..
ReplyDeletemaybelline mascara is my life. :D i love the cute bag.. : ) thanks for offering this.
Can't live without my Laura Mercier foundation. It makes my skin look flawless and feel healthy :)

It has to be ... Mascara (the kind I am in love with at that moment), strawberry lipgloss, and a mirror I picked up at the Globe Theatre gift shop on my first trip to London at 17!
ReplyDeleteMy 'can't live without makeup' product is Mac Viva Glam Lipstick by Lady Gaga. The pink shade is perfect for day or night, for the cheeks and even for the eyes! I bring it with me every day everywhere!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I can't live without my eyeliner. I love maybelline's waterproof ultra liner, because it's so easy to apply & comes off clean. <3 it!
ReplyDeleteI hope this modcloth thing will have your blog take off like a space shuttle because you totally deserve it, your content is top notch. SO cute of your bf and you to match your outfits, you two kill me <3 amazing picks! the brogues, gah
ReplyDeleteI can't live without rimmel concealer, just because it evens out my skin tone, but still looks soo natural, and goes on soo smoothly. :):) and I adooooore this blog. can't wait to see more stuff on here!
ReplyDeleteAw, you're such a humble and fantastic blogger who deserves recognition and I'm glad Modcloth took notice.
ReplyDeleteYou and your man always have THE best outfit combos, such a pretty pairing.
I can't live without my bare minerals foundation powder. Not only do my glasses not leave marks in it because it's a powder, but it comes in super pale! It's like they made it just for me! Also, it makes me look absolutely flawless, like porcelain. Your blog is super cute and so are you in that dress. I can't get over how awesome you look in it.
ReplyDeleteMy ABSOLOUTE must have product would most definitley have to be Eucerin, everyday protection face lotion! It contains an SPF 30 that is neccessary for gals, (or even guys) on the go!
ReplyDeleteIt's recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation against UV induced skin damage, provides all day moisturization, is lightweight and non-greasy, and can be used alone or underneath your makeup!
I love it because it even comes in a perfect sized bottle with a very convenient easy access pump. I carry it with me where ever i go!
Xoxo.
I think it would have to be red lipstick, I'm still working on finding the perfect shade but it is such a beauty essential for me!
ReplyDeleteI love it because it just pops with my pale skin and makes me feel like a film star!
i love love love your outfit anf the colour of your hair!!
ReplyDeletetake a look on my new blog www.givemecoffeeandtv.blogspot.com :) ty
I love that makeup bag. I actually bought it last year for my sister-in-law but I'd love to have one myself.
ReplyDeleteMy must-have makeup product is Nars concealer in "Vanilla." I love it because it's the perfect consistency -- so moisturizing and not clumpy or drying at all -- and because it actually comes in a shade pale enough for me! :)
My must-have makeup product is Lashblast mascara from Covergirl. It separates my lashes beautifully, as well as covers them in rich dark colour.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Nutella fondue sounds delicious! (:
amazing post. never come across your site before but i love it! as for favourite bit of makeup? that would have to be my eyeshadow compact mirror thing (don't really know what it's called as there's also a dark brown blusher and lip paint in it as well!). The eyeshadow part of it is a gorgeous pale goldeny pink colour and i don't wear it a lot because i don't wear a lot of makeup but when i do wear it i LOVE it. The packaging is also super cute too so is just a very pretty thing to look at!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfits so much. I hope that someday I will be able to dress as cute as you. The make up product I can not live without is bare minerals foundation, it covers great and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI can't live without.. a hair band XD
ReplyDeleteHello. :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you could maybe do a book recommendations post? not just fiction..like those diy books etc.. too as there are just so many to choose from i don't know where to start! (especially as they're usually quite pricey!!)
I'd really appreciate it if you did
fan of your unique, wonderfully vintage style

Oh I just found your blog and it's just lovely! Brings me back to the lovely Brighton, where I used to live for a year. Miss it quite a bit now, but at least your post brings a smile to my face and I'll be glad to follow your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to take part in the giveaway, cause who can say no to such a cute makeup purse. I've lately been more into lipstick and such, but my all time favourite thing I can't live without must be nail polish. I simply feel naked without it. I don't really have a specific brand that I adore, since I love changing my polish frequently and in different colours as well. It just makes me feel complete, if you know what I mean. :)
Take care!
Mmm, ModCloth kows how to a pretty dress, that's for sure. My can't live without it is red lipstick. The brand doesn't matter, as long as it's red!
ReplyDeleteI love your dress xx
ReplyDeleteI cannot live without my Clinique maroon lipstick! It's not to bold to wear daily, whether I'm snowboarding, going to class, doing art or going out! And there's no going wrong with it no matter what I'm wearing, that's a definite plus.
ReplyDeletei love the window decoration. it's very cute and i would love to have a little bird like this on my own window, too.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, well deserved! :D I love your dress, brogues and tights, too! x
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is so adorable. As is that little purse: Modcloth is amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy can't-live-without makeup item is my bare minerals blush in beauty. I love it so much, it makes all the difference and I love having bright pink cheeks to give me that fresh, old-fashioned, young look.It lasts all day and you can never over-do it.
stunning you lucky duck!
ReplyDeletebxx
My can't live without is my Maybelline Define-A-Lash mascara. It makes even sleepy eyes pop, never clumps and comes in the three colours I need: navy, soft black and brown. It's versatile and cheap too!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteMy "can't live without" make up of choice is definitely mascara. Whether I feel like doing the whole make up routine or not, mascara is the one thing I need to make myself feel refreshed and pretty. My favorite is Clinique's lash power mascara.
Congratulations on your ModCloth recognition!
ReplyDeleteMy can't live without makeup item is definitely mascara. Any brand that is natural (as much as possible), comes in brown, and is hopefully waterproof works for me! With my fair, strawberry-blond complexion I feel like black is too much, but I need a little eye definition in my life for sure. It makes me feel so much prettier than when I go without.
your dress is lovely, and the tights go perfectly, going to have to head to Brighton laines for some of them!
ReplyDeleteI can't live without my vaseline... is that makeup? i don't think it is but i'm going to use it, for a lovely pouty pout and it's rumoured to make your nails and eyelashes longer (nice greasy eyelids) oooh and 99p! xx
My fave makeup product would have to be.... hmm thats difficult.. well.. my 'her name is glowla' benefit set. It's so pretty and the mascara is brill, and the box is utterly delightful! Its all gold and red and the girl on the front looks uuber cool. Theres also high brow and low brow tints, and a little gold/nude/peach pallete thats good for every skintone :D thanks for the giveaway, and ive liked you fb page... love leah xoxox
ReplyDeleteMy "can't live without it" beauty product would be either Urban Decay's "Naked" palette. I just LOVE it because it works with everything, and can either be played to a subdued, natural note, or a shimmery and outgoing look. I also love the lipstain "benetint" by benefit. It's such a gorgeous colour, and it makes you look dressier, without adding a lot of shine.
ReplyDeleteI may be a bit late for this, but here goes ;) My absolute can't-live-without makeup product is Buxom mascara from Sephora. It's never clumpy and it makes my almost non-existent lashes long and gorgeous!
ReplyDelete
